ABOUT
Established in 2012, like the Phoenix, Bugsy’s rose from the literal ashes of the old Flying Possum Leather Shop. Tragically, the leather shop burned down, with only Bruce’s dog, Bugsy, escaping. Flying Possum was a Dickson Street Legend, and a must see during visits from out-of-towners. The bar was named in honor of the good boy who made it out of the fire.
We’ve built a homage to Bruce Walker and the history of Dickson street throughout the interior. Black and White photos of the street and it's figures line the walls and we’ve even mounted the original Flying Possum door below a collage of Bruce and Bugsy.
Our Dog Friendly patio boasts local artwork honoring Arkansas musicians, Sister Rosetta Tharp and Johnny Cash, plus some other visually stunning work. We also provide treats and baggies for our good Puppers. Donations are collected for the treats and given to the local shelter.
In keeping with the local tradition, Bugsy’s provides a fun and friendly atmosphere, serving local Drafts. Our awesome Staff is second to none: highly trained, professional, and friendly. We strive to provide an environment for all to have a good time.
